Ghosha Yatra Celebrated with Devotion in Tentulikhunti; Devotees Moved by Darshan

Tentulikhunti:  The Ghosha Yatra of Mahaprabhu Jagannath was celebrated with grandeur at Gopal Shreekhetra, located near the Indravati River in Nabarangpur district. The Pahandi Yatra (procession of deities) of the Chaturdha Murti (the four deities) was held in the afternoon for about two hours. Following that, rituals such as Maharaja’s invitation, Chhera Pahanra (sweeping of the chariot), and Dahuka Boli were performed. Around 5 PM, the chariot pulling began.

A large number of devotees gathered at Indravati Bazaar to get a glimpse of the deities seated on the chariot. Thousands of Jagannath devotees participated, pulling the chariot and touching it with reverence. Former Block Chairman and First Sevak Gopal Krishna Bhanj, dressed in royal attire, performed Chhera Pahanra and conducted various worship rituals on the chariot.

The chariot was beautifully decorated with the help of Saraswati Sishu Vidyamandir teacher Sanjay Behera, Jitendriya Mahant, Jagadev Keshari Samant, and others. Traditional Jhotis (decorative motifs) adorned the royal road of Gopal Shreekhetra.

Manoj Kumar Panigrahi, Group Development Officer of Tentulikhunti, offered worship on the chariot. Chief priest Krushnachandra Kara, senior sevayats Bijay Kumar Panda, Gopal Panda, Babuli Pati, Mitu Mishra, Bhagaban Sahu, Manoj Mahapatra, Bijay Panigrahi, Anand Nepak, Sushanta Sahu, Shridhar Panda, Pramod Panda, Manoj Das, Madhusudan Panda, Shrinibas Mishra, and Dushasan Gochhayat actively assisted in all rituals and worship ceremonies.

Members of Odisha Drivers’ Association, BJP Yuva Morcha, Vishva Hindu Parishad, and the local Khatiguda police under the supervision of officer Harish Chandra Golari ensured security and maintained order during the event.
