Funds Sanctioned for Installation of Fire Safety Systems in Hospitals to Enhance Patient Safety and Emergency Preparedness

Nabarangpur, :Mar, 30:  Fire safety systems are currently lacking in several healthcare facilities across Nabarangpur district, including the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Umerkote Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH), Community Health Centres (CHCs) in 10 blocks, and Ayush Arogya Kendras in urban areas.
Following a report published in Sambad highlighting the absence of fire safety arrangements in MCH buildings, the state government has sanctioned Rs19,54,98,413 to upgrade fire safety systems in key hospitals of the district. Instructions have also been issued to implement the work on a war footing.
Out of the total allocation:
Rs 1,48,75,276 has been sanctioned for Nabarangpur DHH.
Around ₹2.70 crore for MCH buildings in three phases.
Rs2.76 crore for Hatabharandi CHC.
About Rs2 crore each for Pujariguda and Sanamasigaon.
Rs1,60,28,284 for Nandahandi.
Around Rs1 crore for Umerkote MCH and Dabugam CHC each.
Rs1.50 crore for Papadahandi CHC.
Rs61,59,828 for Tentulikhunti CHC.
Rs49,96,645 for Kosagumuda.
Rs35,22,705 for Chandahandi.
Rs68,65,224 for Jharigaon.
Rs38,28,286 for UPHC Nabarangpur.
Rs1,41,23,872 for Umerkote SDH.
District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain has directed that quality and transparency be maintained in implementing fire safety measures as per government guidelines. Executive Engineer of the Works Department, Er. Kshiradhar Kandhapani, stated that tenders will be issued soon and the work will be assigned to suitable agencies at the earliest.
