Dhenkanal: Krishna Chandra Patra, the Minister of Food Supply, Consumer Welfare, Science and Technical Department of the state government, is a new hope for the soil of Dhenkanal. His style is very simple — simple living, high thinking. Since this department is directly connected with the daily life of common people, the minister is very active in ensuring food reaches the poor’s plates. The Food Supply Department, under his leadership, is entrusted with the responsibility of providing food to countless poor people across Odisha’s 30 districts.

In his firm yet gentle tone, the minister advises all officials, lower officers, and general staff of his department to serve people with sincerity and goodwill. Minister Patra emphasizes that no one should die due to lack of food. He states that the government’s ration supplies must not be diverted or misused. When paddy procurement and fair pricing to farmers are done properly, he sees no fault in the system. Despite many challenges, the minister’s dedicated efforts, sincere attitude, and honesty have transformed the administrative system.

Not only that, to give more importance to the Science and Technical Department, the minister’s efforts to establish a Science City in Bhubaneswar have also been widely discussed. According to the minister, the proposed Salandi Science City will be a new beacon in science and technology. After personally observing the working, benefits, and organizational system of the Science City in Ahmedabad, the minister aims to build a similar Science City in Bhubaneswar. He has attracted the attention of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for government land acquisition related to this project.

This willingness to give proportional justice to both departments (Food Supply and Science & Technical) is a very good sign. The minister’s office and residence are always bustling, and visitors seeking justice from him often leave with smiles on their faces. Because of such generosity and dedication from the minister, the common people respond with the chant: “Krishna, Krishna, Hare Hare…” appreciating the power of his sincere words.
