Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) today issued a notification announcing the distribution of free school uniforms worth ₹500 per student to all students from Class 1 to 8 studying in government and government-aided schools, as well as schools under the SC and ST Development Department of the state.
Under schemes like Samagra Shiksha, PM SHRI, and Gangadhar Meher Education Quality Improvement Programme, two sets of school uniforms will be distributed free of cost.
The distribution process will be completed by July 15. The uniforms will be distributed in the presence of local dignitaries, and photos of the event will be documented by the school administration. After distribution, the supplier’s bank account will be credited directly via SSP (School Student Portal) transfer. No cash transaction is allowed under any circumstances.
Each Headmaster must keep a sample uniform with them for verification purposes, which will be shown to officials or supervisors during inspection. Strict instructions have been given to ensure transparent and fair distribution of uniforms. Any irregularity or supply of substandard uniforms will lead to strict action, as per the notification.

As in previous years, this year too, all students will receive two sets of specific uniform colors.
Boys (Class 1 to 8): Two sets of pants and white shirts.
Girls (Class 1 to 5): Two sets of frocks (with frills).
Girls (Class 6 to 8): Two sets of salwar, kameez, and dupatta.
The designated fund for the uniform cost will be provided to the respective schools for proper implementation.
Note: If the entire household is without a house, they may be eligible to receive a home under the Antyodaya Yojana.
