Pur, Dec, 16: The Fourth Annual Friendship Gathering of the Undivided Koraput District Lever Drivers’ Association was held today, Saturday, at the Bori Gumma Upper Primary School playground under the chairmanship of Kum Harijan, President of the Association.
The program was attended by several dignitaries, including Harihar Harijan, editor of the Bori Gumma District Organization, as the chief guest, and Jagannath Panda, honored guest; Kedar Gauri Panda, President of Maa Durga Motor Drivers’ Association; Babuli Guru, President of Neelamadhav Motor Drivers’ Association; and the Vice President of Western Odisha JCB Drivers’ Association, Sambalpur District.
Also present were Gopabandhu Nayak, Samir Dal, and other representatives, who raised various demands concerning the increase of drivers’ wages, protection of rights against exploitation by employers, death-time insurance, worker recognition, and social security.
The program saw participation from the editor of Koraput District Lever Drivers’ Association, Harijan, Tony Singh, Sudarsan Goud, President of Rayagada District, Adhur Majhi, Vice President of Koraput District, Kamalu Khol, and three other associates.
This event highlighted the importance of the association in uniting lever drivers, advocating for their welfare, and addressing their social and economic concerns.
