Foundation Stone Laid for School Gate and River-Source Slope at Rasulpur

Rasulpur, 20th Nov 2025: At the right bank of the Patia River in Tikarpada Panchayat under Rasulpur Block (at the upper end of the main source), the foundation stone has been laid for the construction of a school gate and a slope at a vulnerable location of the main river. The program was held on Tuesday afternoon near Jagannath Temple in Tikarpada Panchayat.

The Water Resources Department has spent ₹5.75 crore for the construction of the sluice gate, while the Drainage Department has spent ₹3.34 crore for the restoration of the main river source and construction of the slope. The foundation stone laying ceremony was held jointly by both departments, in which MLA Himanshu Shekhar Sahu and MLA Akash Dasnayak unveiled the plaque as guests.

They also participated in a general assembly organized in the temple premises, where the public residing in eight Panchayats of the catchment area expressed that their long-standing demand had been fulfilled. People from various Panchayats welcomed the two MLAs.

The MLAs also participated in a bike rally, traveling from Hingula Padia of Badka Inch Panchayat through Gandhan, Tikarpada, Badka Inch, Nathuabara, Sribantapur, and other Panchayats, reaching the venue of the ceremony.

Officials present at the program included Shishir Kumar Das, Superintending Engineer, Water Resources Department; Sabysachin Biswal, Assistant Executive Engineer; Subas Chandra Sahu, Assistant Engineer; and Shobhini Mahanti, Junior Section Engineer, along with other officials from the Drainage Department such as Assistant Executive Engineer Purnachandra Nayak, Assistant Engineer Ranjan Sethi, and Junior Engineer Debashmita Das.

Senior BJP leaders such as Gopinath Pati, Shashibhushan Sahu, Prahlad Panda, Prakash Samal, Atulya Pradhan, and social worker Bishwajit Mahanti also attended and managed the event.
