Forester Dies, Two Seriously Injured in Bharatmala Road Accident

Nabarangpur,8th Nov 2025: On the Bharatmala project road, a head-on collision occurred between a car (OD 24 C 1950) and a pickup truck (OD 24 K 9972). In the accident, one forester was killed, while two other foresters were seriously injured. Additionally, the pickup truck driver was also hurt. All the injured were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

The accident took place near Dengaguda Chhak in Papadahandi block, Nabarangpur district, during daytime. According to reports, three foresters from the forest department were traveling to G. Udayagiri for their training when their vehicle collided head-on with the pickup. The deceased forester has been identified as Kamaksha Prasad Swain, and the injured foresters are Tanuj Kumar Paricha from Jharigaon and another colleague from Umarakot range. Local residents and Papadahandi police rushed to the scene, recovered the body, and arranged ambulances to transfer the injured to the hospital.

Surabhi Festival Conducted

A Surabhi Festival was organized, where students who had won prizes in various competitions at the block level participated. Award-winning students were given an opportunity to take part in the district-level Surabhi Festival. Students participated in dance, singing, painting, writing, speeches, and other competitions. The school premises were transformed into performance areas for the festival.
