Bhubaneswar: The first round admission under SAMS +3 (Degree Admission) for the academic session 2025–26 has concluded. In the first phase, 74,018 students have enrolled. However, 2,16,767 seats remain vacant.
The second merit list will be published on June 22, and admissions based on that list will be held by June 25. Similarly, the third merit list will be released on July 1, and admissions for that round will take place from July 1 to July 4. The entire admission process will conclude by July 15, and classes are scheduled to begin on July 10.
There are 2,74,509 seats available under SAMS +3 in total, while only 2,65,590 students have applied. As per the published merit list, 1,75,722 students were selected in the first phase.
The subject-wise breakdown of selected students in the first round was:
Science: 45,855

Commerce: 16,205
Shastri (Sanskrit Studies): 3,371

Arts: 50,364
Science: 12,571
Commerce: 7,796
Self-financing: 863

This has raised several questions and concerns:
Have the selected students actually enrolled or not?
Why have some students not enrolled yet?
If they have enrolled, why have their names not been uploaded to the SAMS portal yet?
These issues have sparked doubts regarding the transparency and timeliness of the enrollment process.
