Kotpad: Today, the first death anniversary of Kishore Chandra Behera of Bastumba Panchayat in Kotpad block was observed. He was a senior politician known for his sweet nature and helpfulness. During his lifetime, he served as the Upada Sarpanch and then as the Sarpanch of Ghumar Panchayat in Kotpad block, playing a significant role in the development of the Panchayat residents. He earned widespread appreciation in Kotpad block for his leadership.
During his tenure as Sarpanch, he was always present during the happiness and sorrows of the people, working selflessly for public welfare and offering his cooperation. On his first death anniversary, former Kotpad MLA Chandrashekhar Majhi, Kotpad Congress candidate Anamu Dian, Akhil Sangh President Maniprasad Pattnayak, senior lawyer J.B. Jitendra Nath Mahapatra, Pankaj Kumar Patra, Ganesh Chandra Panda, Biren Bishoi, Gopal Singh Lal Deo, Manohar Bishoi, Santosh Mishra, Shankar Panda, District Rice Millers’ Advisor Narendra Swain, Jay Banerjee Rao, Tripati Balaji Mahanti, along with all sarpanches, committee members, government officials, and party workers of Kotpad block were present.
The intellectuals of the area gathered to pay floral tribute and offer prayers in front of the photo of the late Kishore Chandra Behera for the peace of his immortal soul. All the members present also partook in a communal meal (annaprasad).
It is noted that this first death anniversary ceremony was organized with the cooperation of his eldest son Sanjay Behera and family members at the premises of the Shiva temple in Bastumba village, Kotpad.
