Nabarangpur: A transformer near Sai Baba Temple in Pathansahi, Baranagpur city, suddenly caught fire due to a short circuit. Before anyone could react, the transformer burst into flames with a loud explosion.
Locals immediately informed the fire department, and after a strenuous effort, two fire engines managed to bring the fire under control. Due to the incident, electricity supply has been disrupted in the area. While nearly half of the city is experiencing a blackout, the entire affected region has been plunged into darkness.
Fortunately, no casualties or damage to property have been reported. Electricity department officials have reached the spot and have begun work to restore power supply to normal as soon as possible.
