Kotpad ,26th July 2025: For the ongoing Kharif crop season of 2025–26, a huge crowd of farmers was seen at the Kotpad LAMPS office under the Cooperative Department for farmer registration. With the deadline for registration set as July 31, farmers are complaining that due to network issues, the registration process has been severely disrupted. As a result, many farmers are being forced to wait from morning till evening, especially those coming from remote areas.
It has also come to light that more than twenty farmers are yet to receive payment for their previous Rabi crop, with no clarity on when the dues will be cleared.
Additionally, reports indicate that fertilizer has not yet been supplied adequately by the cooperative department, despite the farmers having already collected tokens and are now waiting in anticipation. While agricultural activities are in full swing, farmers are demanding immediate supply of fertilizers from the department.
Due to the shortage, fertilizers are allegedly being sold at inflated prices in rural areas, further burdening the farmers.
Amid all these challenges, intellectuals and community members have suggested that the entire farmer registration process be made available through all Jana Seva Kendras and mobile apps. They emphasized that giving full control to the cooperative department for such essential services would help save farmers’ time and effort, and prevent such hardships.
There is growing public discourse urging the government to take note of this situation and act swiftly.
