Farmers Raise Concerns Over Kodinga LAMPS Irregularities in Letter to President

Nabarangpur, 3rd Oct 2025: Farmers from Koshagumuda block’s Kodinga LAMPS have written letters to the President, Prime Minister, and Chief Minister alleging widespread irregularities. Earlier, they had submitted a memorandum to the District Collector and all officials, but no action was taken, prompting this step. Farmers including Subrat Mahapatra, Nirakar Bishoyi, Lakshman Bhatra, and Prashant Bishoyi from Korchamal and Chirma villages have raised these concerns.

According to the farmers, there are extensive irregularities in loan and fertilizer transactions at LAMPS. LAMPS employees are selling the fertilizers meant for farmers to traders. One LAMPS employee, with the Managing Director’s (MD’s) knowledge, is running a fertilizer shop. Loans are being issued without farmers’ consent. Therefore, farmers have demanded the immediate replacement of the MD through their letter.

Earlier complaints led to the identification of the LAMPS MD and one employee as guilty. However, even after a long investigation, the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) has not taken any strict action. Only one employee was suspended after the complaint was filed again, but no action was taken against the MD. This has raised doubts among farmers about the activities of DRDA and ARCS.

On contacting ARCS President Shivashankar, he denied the farmers’ allegations. He stated that the complaint against the LAMPS MD and employees was investigated. The department had recommended action against them to the LAMPS management committee, but the committee gave a clean chit to the MD and only suspended one employee. However, the department will issue a show-cause notice to the committee. It was also made clear that if no action is taken against the MD, the LAMPS management committee will be dissolved by the department in the coming days.
