Koraput: A Farmers’ Awareness Rath (campaign vehicle) was officially launched in front of the office of the Sub-Collector of Jeypore, Koraput district, by the Jeypore Regulated Market Committee for the procurement of Rabi paddy.
Jeypore Sub-Collector Sushree Akbaram Sasya Renghi was the chief guest, and Durga Prasad Chhuria, Secretary of the Regulated Market Committee, attended as the guest of honour. The event was inaugurated by showing the flag to the awareness vehicle.
In the Jeypore subdivision, three awareness raths will tour through all blocks, panchayats, and villages for a period of 10 to 20 days, to raise awareness among farmers.
Sub-Collector Sushree Akbaram Sasya Renghi stated that paddy procurement from the mandis (marketplaces) would only occur in the presence of the respective Panchayat Sarpanch, following their signature.
She also assured that this year’s Rabi paddy procurement would see improvements in mandi operations, and farmers have been instructed to bring only paddy that meets FAQ (Fair Average Quality) standards to the mandis.
Other officials and employees of the Regulated Market Committee were present at the event.
