Malkangiri , 12th Nov 2025: A farewell and felicitation ceremony was organized at Sadar Kumarput Government Primary School under the initiative of the Nikhila Utkal Primary Teachers’ Association, Khairput Block, to honor retiring teachers and the outgoing Block Education Extension Officer (B.E.E.O.).
The meeting was chaired by Block Association President Sanyasi Kirshani, and retiring teachers Kahnei Nayak, Anjali Kumari Mahapatra, and Nalini Nayak were felicitated with great respect. In addition, Additional Group Education Officer (G.E.O.) Shibani Muduli, who has been transferred to the neighboring Lamtaput Block, was also accorded a grand farewell.
The ceremony was attended by B.E.O. Dilip Kumar Gand as the Chief Guest, while District Association Secretary Damodhar Sahu and Purna Chandra Rath addressed the gathering.
The event was conducted by Block Association Secretary Himanshu Padhi.
During the meeting, Chandrasekhar Padhi, Anita Pujari, Swarnalakshmi Rath, and others shared their memories and heartfelt messages for the retiring teachers, wishing them a happy and peaceful post-retirement life.
The chief guest, in his speech, emphasized the importance of completing pending official work before retirement and maintaining dedication till the last day of service.
A farewell song was melodiously performed in duet by Swarnalakshmi Rath and Ranjita Pujari, creating an emotional atmosphere. The retiring teachers and officials were honored with mementos, citations, and gifts as tokens of appreciation.
Teachers from all categories working in the block attended the ceremony.
Notably, Saroj Kumar Khuntia, a retired teacher who settled in Bhubaneswar after his retirement last year, attended the event out of his personal affection for the teachers’ association, which greatly delighted everyone present.
After the conclusion of the farewell ceremony, a new Block Teachers’ Association Committee was formed.
