Bhubaneswar: Jan, 03: Rabindra Mandap, the esteemed play “Paanch Ekar”, presented by Asaranti Natya Sangathan, Bhubaneswar, was successfully staged.
Based on a social theme, this play kept the audience engaged for more than two hours. The story of conflict in the play revolved around Dr. Akshay Kumar Sahu, who not only wrote and conceptualized the play but also performed the lead role as Raju Master.
The plot followed Raju Master’s struggle to protect the five-acre land inherited from his father Arjita from the greed of corrupt politicians. In the climax, Raju Master sacrifices his life for the sake of these five acres, forming the emotional core of the story.
Dr. Akshay Kumar Sahu’s heart-touching performance and powerful dialogues, along with the remarkable acting of the supporting cast, deeply impressed the audience. Viewers watched every scene with rapt attention, and the play successfully delivered its social message.
After the successful staging, the technical team was guided by Darpan Narayan Sethi, with direction by Satyaprakash. Shakti Prasad handled the music, Bikash managed lighting and decoration, and Pragya Datta supervised stage management.
