Nabarangpur, 6th Oct 2025:  Due to continuous rainfall over the past few days in the district, a house has collapsed, leaving a family of four homeless. This tragic incident took place in Musapala village under Manigaon Panchayat, Papadahandi Block, in Nabarangpur district.

The affected person, Ghana Bhutara, had built a small mud house with a thatched roof using his hard-earned income from daily wage labor. The house had two rooms and was constructed with great difficulty. However, due to the persistent rains, the house collapsed, forcing the family to seek shelter elsewhere.

Ghana Bhutara’s family includes his wife Chanchala Bhutara and their two children. So far, the only government aid they have received is 20 kilograms of rice. With no proper land or assets, Ghana relies solely on daily wage work to support his family. Now, he is deeply worried about how to repair or rebuild the damaged house.

Villagers have urged the administration to provide immediate government assistance—either by building a permanent (pucca) house or offering financial help for repairs—to help the family recover and rebuild their life.
