Umerkote: Fakir Mohan Memorial Day and Odisha’s traditional agricultural festival Raja Parba were observed on Sunday by Fakir Mohan Pathshala near the new bus stand in Umerkote.
The event was presided over by Prafulla Kumar Raut, editor of Fakir Mohan Pathshala.
Former member of Odisha Sahitya Akademi Ballav Raut attended as the Chief Guest, while eminent litterateur Dr. Surendra Nath Dash delivered the keynote address.
Other notable guests included retired teacher Umesh Chandra Bhukta and senior advocate Shrinivas Pattnaik.
Dibakar Parida delivered the welcome speech, and teacher Vivekananda Pattnaik conducted the stage proceedings.
During his address, the chief guest spoke about the cultural significance of Raja Parba.
The keynote speaker elaborated on the literary contributions of Fakir Mohan Senapati.
Purnachandra Sethi performed the welcome song.
The program saw active participation and coordination from Nagendra Kumar Raut, Harihar Satapathy, Ananta Charan Sahu, Sanjay Kumar Parida, Prof. Ramesh Chandra Pattnaik, Padma Lochan Sagar, Geetanjali Das, and Babu Chhotaray.
