Cuttack: A major error has been found in today’s Science ‘C’ Set question paper of the ongoing High School Certificate (HSC) examination. A 4-mark question was missing from the paper, causing concern among students and parents.
On the other hand, the Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has acknowledged this mistake. Board President Srikant Tarai stated that the Science ‘C’ Set question paper did not contain one 4-mark short-answer question. He assured that the Examination Management Committee would investigate the matter, and based on its recommendations, students would be awarded marks.
Mr. Tarai reassured that no student would be disadvantaged due to this issue and clarified that it was a printing error.
Board Acknowledges the Error, Ensures No Student Will Be Affected
According to available information, the Science examination was held on Saturday. While answering the subjective section of the ‘C’ Set question paper, students noticed that a 4-mark question was missing. They immediately informed the invigilators in the examination hall. The invigilators assured the students that grace marks would be given and instructed them to proceed with answering the other questions.
However, many parents have expressed dissatisfaction over the incident. They have raised questions about how the question paper was reviewed before the exam and how the Board’s Examination Management Committee overlooked such an important error. The missing 4-mark question has sparked criticism regarding the Board’s question paper preparation process.
