Jeypore,  15th Nov 2025:  In the Jeypore town area of Koraput district, many traders from outside the state as well as local vendors had illegally occupied portions of the National Highway by setting up mobile stands and various types of roadside shops. This encroachment caused inconvenience to the general public by obstructing the smooth flow of traffic. It also created serious traffic issues and hindered the construction of the new road.

Following repeated complaints from the public, Jeypore Tahsildar Sabyasachi Jena, accompanied by police personnel and municipal staff, inspected the roadside shops, verified voter IDs and shop documents of the vendors, and evicted all those who were encroaching on the highway.

Similarly, based on public complaints within the Jeypore Municipality area, an eviction drive was carried out from Sardar Patel Marg to Jail Road Square under the supervision of the Deputy Collector and Municipal Executive Officer Akbaram Sasya Reddy. Municipal staff members Satyanarayan Patra, Bhubani Halba, Jagadish Rao, along with police and municipal employees, participated in the operation.

The administration’s action has been widely appreciated by the general public.
