Empowering Women: ‘Nari Shakti’ Programme Includes Clothing Distribution

Nabarangpur , 18th Nov 2025:  Under the initiative of the district’s leading women’s organization Nari Shakti, an awareness meeting was organized at Behera Guda village, along with the distribution of winter clothes and garments to mothers, sisters, children, and people in need.

Awareness programmes were conducted on elimination of child marriage, avoidance of intoxicants, and the importance of education for all.

Women, girls, and children present were informed about the harmful effects of child marriage, and parents were advised to marry off their daughters only after they attain the legally permissible age. Household heads and other family members were made aware of the ill effects of consuming alcohol, tobacco, and other intoxicants, and were advised to abstain from them.

It was emphasized that education is essential for building a better life, and therefore all children should regularly attend school and continue their studies.

The organization’s Treasurer Manorama Majhi, President Swarnalata Pattnayak, Vice-President Sophia Begum, Legal Advisor Ram Prasad Patra, Joint Secretary Sama Ahmad, and members Durga Prasad Padhi, Babita Sahu, Sakila Begum, among others, were present and delivered awareness messages.
