Dhenkanal – heart-touching reunion took place in Gopi Gadia Sahi of Baunshapala Panchayat under Kamakshyanagar police station, Dhenkanal district, when a son who had gone missing 8 years ago finally returned to his mother’s arms.
The missing boy, Santosh Nayak, son of Teri Nayak, a helpless villager, had disappeared while visiting his maternal uncle’s house. Over the years, the family suffered multiple tragedies: Santosh’s father Budhimana Nayak passed away three years ago, and his two brothers Shrikanti and Prashanti as well as his only sister Ali Nayak also died.
Teri Nayak, who had spent her life looking at her youngest son’s photo, was devastated by his disappearance and had assumed he too was no longer alive. But fate had something else in store. Her missing son Santosh returned home, bringing immense joy and relief.
Thanks to the efforts of the local Sarpanch and police administration, Santosh was traced and brought back from Madhya Pradesh, where he had been working as a daily wage laborer. He had lost his way home and was unable to return on his own. With the help of the local police in Madhya Pradesh, he was able to return to his birthplace.
His family expressed great happiness and gratitude upon his return.
