Education Officers Asked to Stay Active on Social Media Platforms

Bhubaneswar, 7th Aug 2025: The Education Department will now remain active on social media to protect and promote its public image. While reports on issues and complaints in the education sector are often published, the positive developmental activities undertaken by the department have not been adequately conveyed to the public.

Concern Over Image Management
Keeping this in mind, the department has launched a campaign to promote its successes through social media. Officials have been instructed to be more active and share more and more success stories with the public. Manoj Kumar Tripathy, Under Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, has issued letters to all departmental directors, the Chairperson of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, and the President of the Board of Secondary Education in this regard.

In a recently held coordination meeting of senior officials and directors, it was decided that each director must post at least two to three positive stories or noteworthy achievements of the department on social media every week.

Officials were also instructed to share these success stories in a designated WhatsApp group created for the Education Department. These stories will later be disseminated through the official social media handles of the School and Mass Education Department.

The Under Secretary has urged all departmental officers to ensure the weekly and systematic release of success stories. Additionally, the Joint Director of the State Primary Education Directorate has sent letters to all District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs), advising them to stay active in this effort.
