Nabarangpur, 31st Oct 2025: In Ward No. 1 of Mixfarm UV 52, under the Umarkot Municipal Council, Nabarangpur district, the annual Kali Puja was held this year as usual. A 42-foot-tall idol of Goddess Kali is worshiped here. Since 20th October (Amavasya of Diwali), the Puja celebrations have continued for a week, accompanied by processions, fairs, and various markets. Devotees come from nearby villages, neighboring districts, and even from Chhattisgarh to witness the festivities. People enjoy the processions, fairs, and cultural activities, while friends and relatives visiting from outside also join in the celebrations and are invited into local households.
In this context, Honorable Minister Nityananda Gand took some time out of his busy schedule to visit the Kali Puja in the evening. He was warmly welcomed by the villagers. Upon arriving at the Puja Mandap, the Minister participated in the rituals along with the priests, reciting mantras and praying for the well-being and prosperity of the local community.
Significantly, this ward was the first where the Minister was elected as Ward Councilor, marking the beginning of his political journey. Today, he has established his identity as a Cabinet Minister in the Odisha Government.
During this visit, Member of Parliament Pramila Nayak, Ministerial colleagues, and BJP workers also accompanied the Minister in the Kali Puja celebrations.
