Education Crisis: 9 Schools in Odisha Locked Amid Teacher Deficit

Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education Department has sealed 9 schools due to a complete lack of teachers. These 9 primary schools across 7 districts in Odisha have been shut down because there are no teachers posted there. Notably, 3 of these schools are located in Keonjhar district.

Students from these closed schools are being directed to enroll in nearby primary schools, and Block Education Officers (BEOs) have been instructed to ensure and monitor the re-enrollment process.

Additionally, District Education Officers have been asked to submit proposals to OSEPA (Odisha School Education Programme Authority) to upgrade these schools as per the directive from the Directorate of Primary Education.
