Economic Zone Plan Unveiled to Transform Bhubaneswar Into a World-Class City

Bhubaneswar, 4th Sept 2025: Several initiatives have been launched to make Bhubaneswar a world-class city. The Quad City program includes Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, and Paradip. The state government plans to combine these cities to form an economic zone. Another economic zone will be formed including Sunabeda, Koraput, Baragarh, and Sambalpur. A further economic zone will be created covering Rourkela, Kendujhar, and Bada Bilk. Economic zones will be established in cities that contribute significantly to the state’s GDP. This information was shared by Usha Padhi, Secretary of the Urban Development Department.
