Bhubaneswar,  Jan, 12:  E-challans can now be paid both online and offline. For the convenience of the general public, RTOs have been directed to accept cash payments.
At RTO offices, specific officers will be officially assigned the responsibility of collecting e-challan payments. Payments will be accepted only from vehicle owners or drivers against active pending e-challans.

After the e-challan payment is received, a money receipt/acknowledgement will be issued, and the payment status will also be updated online. All amounts collected towards e-challans will be deposited into the government treasury on the next working day.

The State Transport Authority (STA) has instructed all RTOs to ensure integrity and transparency in the offline system, with top priority given to providing efficient and proper assistance to the public.
