Bhubaneswar, 1st Sept 2025: This year, CCTV cameras and drones will keep a close watch on Durga Puja celebrations across Odisha. Police Director General (DGP) Y.B. Khurania has stated that comprehensive security measures are being taken ahead of the festival. Strict action will be taken against anyone collecting forcible donations in the name of Puja. The DGP emphasized that no tolerance will be shown toward forced or aggressive fundraising activities. If complaints are received, immediate legal action will follow against those involved. All District Collectors and SPs have been instructed to remain vigilant during the festival period. Odisha Police is also keeping a strict eye on criminal activities and suspicious individuals, ensuring a peaceful and safe celebration for all. The use of modern surveillance tools like drones marks a new level of precaution, aimed at crowd control and preventing untoward incidents during one of the state’s biggest festivals.
