Dream Project in Balasore: MSME Dept Clears Funds for IDCO Tower

Balasore:23rd Sept 2025:  The long-awaited dream of constructing an IDCO Tower in Balasore is set to become a reality. In response to a question raised by local MLA Manas Kumar Dutta in the state assembly regarding the current status of the proposal for the tower’s construction, State Industries Minister Samapad Chandra Swain stated that the project is moving forward.

The minister informed that a proposal has been submitted to construct an MSME Tower in the Angaragadia Industrial Area, on 6.101 acres of land, with the objective of providing infrastructure support to MSME industries. This project will be implemented by IDCO with assistance from the MSME Department.

A budget allocation of ₹50 crore has been made for the construction of the MSME Tower in the financial year 2025-26. IDCO has initiated steps for agency selection and preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), the minister said.

Additionally, MLA Dutta raised concerns regarding the status of the land bank in Balasore district and allegations of irregularities in land acquisition by IDCO. He questioned the reasons for delays in eviction proceedings by the Estate Court, and the timeframe set for addressing these issues. He also requested the minister to provide a detailed report on the number of such cases and the action taken.

In response, Minister Swain informed that 580.514 acres of land in Balasore district have been earmarked for industrial purposes under the IDCO Land Bank till date.
