The event was presided over by the in-charge headmaster Nirmal Kumar Das, while other distinguished guests present included Kirani Nayak, Officer of the Didai Development Agency; Dibakar Suna, President of the School Management Committee; Uma Shankar Das, Ideal Teacher awardee; social workers Balakrishna Pradhan and Bhagaban Sahu; teachers Sasmita Mohapatra, Anjali Hantal, Umakanta Das, Bikash Badagochia, Haribandhu Shanta, and warden Sandhyarani Mohapatra. They all welcomed Dr. Gudia warmly with flowers and ceremonial scarves.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Gudia belongs to the Didai tribal community, one of the particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs) of the region. Despite coming from a very poor background, his strong interest in education helped him rise high. He pursued higher studies at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) University, Bhubaneswar, where he completed M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Political Science (Philosophy stream), earning the prestigious Doctorate degree.

After receiving his doctorate, Dr. Gudia visited his alma mater, describing it as a deeply emotional and memorable experience. He shared anecdotes from his school days, recounting several incidents from his time as a student. The students, filled with curiosity, asked him many questions on various topics, which he patiently and thoughtfully answered. Throughout his speech, he was seen several times becoming emotional, with tears welling up in his eyes.

In his address, Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Gudia expressed heartfelt gratitude to his parents, crediting their relentless hard work and selfless support for his success. He pledged to continue striving for the educational and social upliftment of youth—especially girls—of his Didai tribal community, so that they can integrate into the mainstream of society.

The entire school faculty contributed to the successful organization of the event, with teacher Sudhakar Nayak coordinating and conducting the entire program.
