Jagatsinghpur, 23rd Oct 2025: Every person is born the same way, but it is through exceptional deeds that one becomes immortal. Such an immortal and extraordinary figure was Dr. Bholanath Raut, a unique Saraswata Sadhaka. This was expressed by guests attending a tribute meeting held today on the occasion of his 4th death anniversary.
The meeting was organized by the Jagatsinghpur Saraswata Parishad at the Manorama Library premises in Bagsahi, and was presided over by Parishad President Himanshu Acharya. He remarked that Dr. Raut will forever be remembered for his contribution to the historical documentation of Jagatsinghpur.
The keynote speaker, Professor Lakshmidhar Pradhan, described Dr. Raut as a veteran academician, an efficient leader of teachers, and above all, a selfless educator of Utkal. He emphasized the extensive range of Dr. Raut’s creativity.
Dr. Raut had also served as the editor of the Book Fair souvenir organized in Jagatsinghpur after the devastating cyclone and had long-standing associations with various educational and literary circles. As a founding member of the Teachers’ Union and Private College Teachers’ Association, his leadership remains an inspiration to the teaching community.
Another notable speaker, poetess and editor of Manorama Library, Manorama Satapathy, spoke in detail about his varied literary works, affirming his significant role as an editor and contributor to literature.
Among others who participated and offered floral tributes were Kadamini Mishra, Arundhati Mohanty, and Smarnika Bishwal. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by teacher Upendra Satapathy.
