Nabarangpur ,Jan, 01: At Umerkote in Nabarangpur district, the Umerkote Nagarik Manch organized a felicitation ceremony to honor a doctor. The program was held under the chairmanship of senior politician Jayadev Parida. On Sunday, at S.S. International Hotel, Umerkote resident and Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Nabarangpur district, Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda, was felicitated by the Umerkote Nagarik Manch.
The felicitation was organized following the recent decision of the State Government’s Health Department to promote Dr. Santosh Panda to the Super Time Pay Grade (Director level).
On this occasion, senior BJP leader and State Vice President Ramesh Chandra Sahu, former Municipal Chairman Jhadeshwar Mahanti, and Advisor of the Nishul Bengali Samaj Coordination Committee, Tapan Kumar Pal, among others, were present on the dais along with Jayadev Kumar Parida.
The speakers highlighted Dr. Panda’s life and recalled his remarkable contributions to the treatment of child patients in the Umerkote region. After receiving the honor, Dr. Panda became deeply emotional and stated that this felicitation would remain a lifelong memory for him.
Hundreds of local residents were present at the event. The State Government has directed Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda, after being promoted to the Director-level post, to continue serving as the Chief District Medical Officer of Nabarangpur district.
It is also noteworthy that Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda, the Chief District Medical Officer of Nabarangpur, will retire from service on December 31 of this year.
Among others present were retired headmaster Dandapani Khadanga, Pramod Swain, Tulu Sahu, Balaji Behera, Rajit Santa, Ashok Sahu, Babula Sahu, Sanjit Biswas, Jatin Panda, Suresh Patnaik, and Mahendra Patra.
