District Police Observe Police Commemoration Day with Solemn Tributes to Martyred Jawans

Malkangiri, 28th Oct 2025:  The 66th Police Commemoration Day was observed at the district level in Malkangiri, where the Superintendent of Police (SP) and other senior officials paid solemn tribute to the brave police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The ceremony was held at the premises of the District Police Headquarters in Malkangiri. Superintendent of Police Vinod Patil H. attended as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering, which included police personnel, officers, intellectuals, and invited guests. In his speech, he stated that the sacrifices of police officers for the safety and security of the nation will never be forgotten. He emphasized that these brave martyrs laid down their lives fighting against Maoists, extremists, and terrorists, thereby safeguarding the Constitution and security of the country.

The names of police officers and soldiers from across different states of India who were martyred in the line of duty were read out, followed by a two-minute silence in their memory. Floral tributes were offered at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial to honor their supreme sacrifice.

Later, tributes were also paid at the memorial dedicated to the policemen who lost their lives fighting Maoists in Malkangiri district, with wreaths and floral bouquets being offered in their remembrance.

Among those present at the event were Additional SP Raj Kishor Dash, ASP Rashmiranjan Senapati, DSP Onam Lakra, DSP Mamata Panigrahi, Malkangiri Model Police Station IIC Regan Kindo, and several other police officers and staff of the district.

The programme was conducted and coordinated by Inspector Satyapriya Biswal and Police Sergeant Bibhishan Sabar.
