Nabarangpur:Dec, 09: As per the directions of the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha, the District Administration of Nabarangpur yesterday (19.09.2025) celebrated the District-Level Youth Festival 2025 with great joy and enthusiasm at the premises of the Women’s Degree College. The main objective of the festival was to bring together the youth force and provide them a platform to showcase their hidden talents.
A total of 529 enthusiastic participants from various groups, educational institutions, and communities of the district took part in this significant event and contributed to its success.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Bishwajit Chandra Barman, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue), Nabarangpur, as the Chief Guest, who formally inaugurated the programme. In his address, he described the youth as the future of the nation and urged them to bring positive change in society.
Among the distinguished guests present were District Sports Officer Susanta Kumar Nayak, Chairperson of the Women’s Degree College Maleshwari Sahu, retired professor Bijay Kumar Mishra, educationist Bijay Kumar Choudhury, Additional Chairperson of Nabarangpur Degree College Sangeeta Tripathy, and retired headmistress Prabhasini Mohanty. All the guests highly appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm of the youth. Geeta Das conducted the entire programme smoothly.
The festival showcased a rare blend of culture and knowledge. Along with traditional art forms such as folk dance and folk music, competitions like speech, poetry writing, story writing, painting, and the most attractive event—Innovation (Science Exhibition)—were organised.
In the group competitions, the first, second, and third teams were awarded cash prizes of Rs 10,000,Rs 7,000, andRs 5,000 respectively.
In the individual competitions, the winners were awarded attractive cash prizes of Rs 11,000, Rs 5,000, and Rs 1,000.
