District-Level “Surabhi” Festival Organized at Butiguda Upper Primary School

Malkangiri, 7th Nov 2025:  The District-Level Surabhi Festival was successfully organized at the Government Upper Primary School, Butiguda, under the School and Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha, and Samagra Shiksha, Malkangiri.

The event was inaugurated by District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, who attended as the chief guest and formally launched the District-Level Children’s Festival – Surabhi 2025. In the absence of the local MLA, his representative attended the event.

The ceremony also witnessed the presence of Additional District Magistrate (General) Somanath Pradhan, District Education Officer (DEO) Chittaranjan Panigrahi, BEOs Asit Mistri (Korukonda), Sumit Biswas (Mathili), Gayatri Devi (Chitrakonda), and Joint Director Bishwanath Tarai from the Education Department, Bhubaneswar.

Before this district-level program, Surabhi festivals were organized at panchayat and block levels across the district. Students who excelled in various competitions at the block level were given the opportunity to participate in this district-level event. The most talented students from the district will further be nominated to represent Malkangiri at the state level.

The entire school campus and stage were beautifully decorated for the occasion. A special selfie point was also set up for students and visitors. Children enthusiastically participated in dance, singing, drawing, essay writing, speeches, and other competitions. The school premises came alive with music, dance, and cheerfulness.

A large crowd gathered to witness the performances, and the audience was deeply impressed by the regional and traditional dance presentations, which added a cultural charm to the entire event.
