Nabarangpur, Jan 28: The District-Level Sports Festival organized by the Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste Development Department concluded in a grand ceremony at Biju Patnaik Stadium, Umarkote.
The closing ceremony was held under the chairmanship of District Welfare Officer Rabindra Palaka. Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia attended as the Chief Guest, while Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Biswajit Chandra Barman graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries present included Indoor Stadium In-Charge Ashok Kumar Sahu (Umarkote), Additional Tahsildar Nilambar Pujari, Additional Labour Officer Manas Ranjan Khosla, Additional District Welfare Officer Bharat Chandra Sahu, Ms. Nivedita Biswal, Welfare Extension Officer Umarkote Bidhubhushan Behera, along with all Welfare Extension Officers of the district.
Senior Headmasters and teachers including Bhamini, Prashant Kumar Jena, Sadhuram Bhatra, Satya Narayan Patra, T. Srikant, sports teachers Kishore Kumar Sil, Gopal Pattnaik, Kalikinkar Pattnaik, and Sapan Bairagi extended their support in organizing the event.
More than 1,680 students participated in the sports festival. Bhamini High School emerged as the champion in the boys’ category, while Nayakguda Girls’ High School secured the championship in the girls’ category.
Headmasters, headmistresses, assistant teachers, matrons, and sports teachers contributed significantly to the successful organization of the event.
