Nabarangpur, Dec, 19:  The District-Level Science and Child Scientist Exhibition–2025 was successfully organized at Nabarangpur Municipal High School.

At the inaugural ceremony, District Collector Dr. M. Maheshwar Sai attended as the chief guest, while Chief District Medical Officer Santosh Panda and Principal of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Omkar Pattnaik, attended as guests of honor. Among others present were Additional District Education Officer Prakash Chandra Mahalik, District Science Supervisor Chittaranjan Ucha Pattnaik, and Headmistress of the Municipal High School, Meena Bag, who graced the dais. The program was presided over by District Education Officer Chhatrapati Sahu.

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the District Collector and other dignitaries. In his address, the chief guest encouraged the young scientists to develop innovative thinking and cultivate a scientific temperament.

Students from schools across various blocks of Nabarangpur district participated enthusiastically in the exhibition.

A total of 130 projects were displayed during the science fair. The projects were developed under the theme “Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for a Developed and Self-Reliant India”, with sub-themes including sustainable agriculture, waste management and alternatives to plastic, green energy, emerging technologies, recreational mathematical modeling, health and hygiene, and water conservation and management.

The judging panel visited all exhibits and, based on the presentations, shortlisted 13 projects. Out of these, 7 projects under the Child Scientist Exhibition category were selected to represent the district at the State-Level Science Exhibition.

In the Child Scientist category, Bishnu Mandal, Anvesha Suna, Pratima Pujari, Sasmita Jani, Naresh Pujari, Lovely Sahu, and Bhuvan Ganda achieved success.

Under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan, at the primary level, Ankita Das, Dinesh Harijan, and Babita Jani were selected, while at the secondary level, Sai Muktesh Sahu, Dharam Dharamdei Bhitara, and Om Prakash Lenka secured recognition.

During the valedictory ceremony, Additional District Collector Tapan Khuntia attended as the chief guest, and Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra as the guest of honor. Awards and certificates were distributed to the selected participants as well as all competitors.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Headmistress Meena Bag, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to the students for their enthusiastic participation and efforts.
