District-Level Quiz Competition Held to Mark World Tourism Day

Nabarangpur, 6th Oct 2025:  World Tourism Day is celebrated globally on 27th September. This year, the main theme was “Tourism and Sustainable Development”. On this occasion, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of the tourism sector and its role in sustainable development, a district-level quiz competition was organized at the Nabarangpur District Culture Hall.

Students from various government and private schools and colleges across the district actively participated in the competition with great enthusiasm.

At the school level, Ranjan Kumar, Headmaster of Pujariguda Government High School, and Sushanta Kumar Sahu, Headmaster of Dangarbheja Government High School, served as judges.
At the college level, Laxmikant Saura, an Odia Lecturer, was the judge.

The Chief Guest for the event was Manoj Kumar Behera, District Information and Public Relations Officer of Nabarangpur. He spoke about career opportunities and employment prospects in the tourism sector.

At the end of the event, Ghasi Ram Harijan, District Tourism Officer, highlighted the importance of tourism and encouraged everyone to travel to tourist destinations during holidays to connect with nature.

All winners were awarded certificates and cash prizes by the Chief Guest.

This event was successfully coordinated with the active cooperation of Niranjan Nayak (Junior Assistant, Tourism Office), Atmaprakash Sahu (Junior Assistant, District Culture Office), and Santosh Kumar, among others.
