Nabarangpur, Feb, 9: A district-level Mega Job Fair was organized today at the playground of Raja Chaitanya Dev Nodal High School by the District Skill Development and Employment Office in collaboration with the District Administration, Nabarangpur.
Distinguished guests present at the event included Dabugaon MLA Manohar Randhari, Nabarangpur MLA Gouri Shankar Majhi, District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain, Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Biswajit Barman, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Lok Sabha MP’s representative Jyoti Ranjan Kansa, District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Behera, District Social Security Officer Sudhanshu Patra, and District Skill Development and Employment Officer-cum-Convener Anand Chandra Pallei, among others.
More than 1,700 job aspirants from all 10 blocks of the district participated in the Mega Job Fair. Over 25 employers from Odisha and outside the state, along with 20 project implementing agencies, took part in the event.
More than 1,300 candidates were shortlisted for further stages of the recruitment process. Additionally, over 25 candidates were provided appointment letters on the spot.
In their speeches, the dignitaries encouraged the district’s youth to showcase their talents effectively before recruiting agencies and to undergo proper skill training to become role models for others. They also advised the youth not to waste time merely searching for jobs but to consider self-employment and entrepreneurship, thereby creating employment opportunities for others.
The District Collector advised aspirants not to focus solely on academic qualifications and running after jobs, but to emphasize skill development, communication skills, and time management while strengthening their self-confidence. He also encouraged them to develop expertise in fields of their interest.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Skill Development Officer Shubham Mohapatra.
