Nabarangpur, Feb, 13: A District-Level Mega Job Fair was organized today at the local Raja Chaitanya Dev Nodal High School playground by the District Skill Development and Employment Office in collaboration with the District Administration, Nabarangpur.
The event was graced by Dabugaon विधायक Manohar Randhari and Nabarangpur MLA Gouri Shankar Majhi as chief guests. The meeting was chaired by District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain. Among the distinguished guests were Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Biswajit Barman, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darwan, representative of the Hon’ble Lok Sabha MP Jyoti Ranjan Kans, District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Behera, District Social Security Officer Sudhanshu Patra, and District Skill Development and Employment Officer-cum-Convener Ananda Chandra Palei.
More than 1,700 job aspirants from all 10 blocks of the district participated in the mega job fair. Over 25 employers from within Odisha and outside the state, along with 20 project implementing agencies, took part in the recruitment drive.
More than 1,300 candidates were shortlisted for further stages of the recruitment process. Additionally, over 25 candidates were issued appointment letters on the spot.
In their speeches, the distinguished guests encouraged the youth of the district to showcase their talents effectively before various recruiting agencies and to undergo proper skill training to become role models for others. They also advised young people not to waste time merely searching for jobs but to consider self-employment and entrepreneurship, thereby creating job opportunities for others.
The District Collector advised aspirants not to run only after academic degrees and government jobs but to focus on skill development, communication skills, and time management to strengthen their self-confidence. He further suggested that candidates should develop expertise in fields that genuinely interest them.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Skill Development Officer Shubham Mahapatra.
