Asurali, Jan, 08: The Bhadrak district-level Employment Fair 2025 was organized on Tuesday at Asurali in Dhamnagar Block. The fair was seen as a symbol of hope and opportunity, aimed at providing new employment prospects for youth. Thousands of job-seeking young men and women were seen attending the event.
Industrial establishments from within the district as well as from outside participated in the fair and conducted interviews with many candidates to meet their workforce requirements. The employment fair was inaugurated by the Minister for Higher Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs, Suraj Suryabanshi. Among those present were Bhadrak MP Avimanyu Sethi, Bhadrak District Collector Dillip Routray, Sub-Collector Saurabh Chakraborty, ADM Saroj Dutta, and other dignitaries.
The programme was conducted by District Skill Development and Employment Officer Anita Nayak. A total of 53 stalls were set up to provide employment opportunities. At the fair, 1,369 educated youths registered their names. Out of them, several candidates expressed interest in receiving training from different institutions. Representatives from 12 employment-linked skill training institutions participated in the event.
In addition, 34 recruiting organizations were present at the fair. It was reported that 616 candidates were shortlisted for employment in the next phase. Some candidates were directly appointed to various organizations, while 27 candidates were issued compassionate appointment letters in the education department.
However, as there were no opportunities for government jobs at the fair, many youths expressed disappointment. While visiting various stalls, some women were seen questioning the minister about his earlier promise of providing 100 jobs per panchayat per month. The minister reportedly avoided responding to the issue.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by District Education Officer Jagabandhu Sahu.
