Nabarangpur, Dec, 12: A district-level agriculture-based strategy committee meeting for the year 2025–26 was held under the chairmanship of the District Collector, Dr. Maheshwar Swain, at the Local Mission Shakti office. As per the agenda, Chief District Agriculture Officer Sudhiranjan Behera presented the ongoing agricultural schemes in the district, various agricultural activities, and the strategies planned for the upcoming Rabi season.
Along with this, the Deputy Director of Horticulture, the Chief Scientist and Project Director of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Umerkote, and the Watershed Department officials also presented their respective departmental programs and Rabi-season action plans. Officers from various water resource departments, all officials from the Agriculture Department, and other committee members were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the Rabi project, and the District Collector emphasized the need to prioritize non-paddy crops over paddy for the efficient use of water and the judicious application of chemical fertilizers.
