Malkangiri: The Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) has secured the first position in the state by receiving the Kayakalp Award, given by the State Government for excellence in healthcare services. With efficient management, excellent infrastructure, and superior medical services, Malkangiri DHH has topped the state rankings, earning this prestigious award.
Similarly, the Chitrakonda Sub-Divisional Hospital in Malkangiri district has secured the second position at the sub-divisional hospital level for the year 2024-25. Recognizing its remarkable contributions to healthcare services, the Chitrakonda Sub-Divisional Health Center has been honored with this award.
For the past few years, both Malkangiri DHH and Chitrakonda Sub-Divisional Hospital have consistently achieved this recognition. Notably, Chitrakonda Sub-Divisional Hospital had secured first place in the state in 2023-24.
To further enhance their development, the State Government has allocated ₹50 lakh to Malkangiri DHH and ₹10 lakh to Chitrakonda Sub-Divisional Hospital as prize money.
At a meeting held on the 23rd in Bhubaneswar, it was officially announced that Malkangiri DHH ranked first among district hospitals, while Chitrakonda Sub-Divisional Hospital secured the second position in the sub-divisional hospital category.
District Chief Medical Officer and Chitrakonda Sub-Divisional Hospital Head, Khiroda Chandra Mohant, credited this award to all doctors and staff for their dedication and efforts. The hospital staff expressed great joy upon receiving this recognition.
