Nabarangpur: A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was held at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Lok Sabha MP Balabhadra Majhi.
The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Mujibulla Khan, Nabarangpur MLA Gaurishankar Majhi, Dabugam MLA Manohar Randhari, Jharigaon MLA Narsingh Bhatra, District Council President Motiram Nayak, District Collector Dr. Subhankar Mohapatra, Chief Development Officer and District Planning Officer Biranchi Narayan Dharua, Block Chairpersons, various Gram Panchayat Sarpanches, all district-level departmental and technical officers, DISHA committee members, and media representatives.
Under the leadership of MP Balabhadra Majhi, discussions were held on the implementation of centrally funded schemes at the district level. Various sectors, including health, education, horticulture, agriculture, transportation, drinking water supply, food security, skill development, tribal welfare, and social security, were reviewed. The functioning of these departments was analyzed, and the MP advised all departments to ensure the effective execution of central schemes.
The committee members emphasized improving health services, raising concerns about the availability of banks, ultrasound facilities, Ayushman Cards, shortage of doctors and nurses, ongoing staff protests, and children’s healthcare.
In his address, the MP highlighted issues related to farmers, such as crop insurance enrollment, employee commitment, soil health card distribution, and providing registered seeds. Regarding education, he stressed the need to regulate teacher deputations without approval from the District Education Officer, and directed block chairpersons to monitor PM SHRI scheme implementation.
For drinking water supply, the MP directed the RWSS (Rural Water Supply and Sanitation) department to expedite the Har Ghar Jal scheme to ensure 100% coverage of households with tap water.
The employment and skill development department was instructed to focus on providing training in various trades for youth and ensuring employment opportunities in different sectors.
Regarding rural roads, the MP advised the authorities to prioritize connectivity and quality. The Bharatmala Project officials were present and addressed queries from MPs and MLAs regarding road repairs and project implementation.
