Nabarangpur, 7th Oct 2025: The Development Plan 2030 for 536 villages in Nabarangpur district has been approved through Gram Sabhas (village assemblies). District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain shared this information on Friday. As part of a joint initiative by the central and state governments, the plan aims to benefit 1,78,904 tribal people across 536 villages in 10 blocks of the district through six major schemes—including Aadhaar card, Ration card, Bank account, Ayushman card, and Kisan Credit Card, among others.
Dr. Swain, along with other senior officials, said that 100% inclusion in social security schemes has been achieved through extensive awareness drives. For this purpose, 61 block-level trainers were trained and deployed to provide training at both village and block levels.
As part of the campaign:
20 tribal youth from each of the 536 villages were identified.
Padyatras (awareness walks) were conducted in villages.
A Village Vision Plan 2030 was prepared.
Adiseva Kendras (service centers for tribals) were established.
Between September 17 and October 2, the district observed a special campaign called “Adikarm Abhiyan”, during which Adivasi festivals were celebrated in each village.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, a special event was held in Taragaon Panchayat of Nabarangpur block, where Ms. Barnali Deka, a representative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain participated. They encouraged people to actively engage in the Adikarm Yogi campaign and inaugurated a new Adibasi (tribal) center.
The District Collector confirmed that the Village Development Plan 2030 has been formally approved in all 536 villages through Gram Sabhas.
