Nabarangpur: On behalf of the District Citizens’ Committee, a memorandum was submitted to Municipal Executive Officer Dr. Ashok Kumar Kantha regarding several civic issues in Ward No. 17 of the municipality. The key demands included:
Repair of drains and sewers
Construction of roads and pathways
Management issues at the dumping yard
Complaints regarding excessive charges taken by the municipality for toilet-cleaning vehicles
In response, the Executive Officer assured the delegation that all these matters would be seriously considered and presented in the upcoming Municipal Council meeting, and necessary steps would be taken to resolve the problems.
Regarding the complaint about excessive charges for toilet-cleaning services, the Executive Officer clarified that in the future, only government-fixed rates would be collected.
The meeting was attended by Committee President Jagannath Mahapatra, Secretary Ramprasad Patra, along with members Kishori Pattnaik, Tapan Kumar Bishoyi, Subrat Behera, Pradeep Kumar Sahu, and Shrinivas Patra.
