Bhubaneswar, 6th Sept 2025: Electricity services in the state will soon see major improvements. In this regard, the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) has issued a notification. As part of this, opinions and suggestions have been invited from nearly 1 crore consumers across the state by September 22.

The notification from OERC contains several important directives regarding uninterrupted electricity services.

According to the guidelines:

If a consumer calls to report a problem, the electricity distribution company must respond within 3 minutes.

The complaint must be acknowledged and logged within 5 minutes.

If the electricity distribution company fails to respond within the specified time, a penalty will be imposed.
