Jeypore, 15th July 2025: Disability certificates have now reached the grassroots level from the district level due to the efforts of Koraput District Collector V. Keerthi Vasan. Thanks to his initiative, persons with disabilities can now obtain disability certificates at the block level instead of having to travel to Koraput Sadar sub-division or Jeypore. As part of this effort, health checkups are being conducted at the block level to issue disability certificates.
Today, the district administration organized a health screening camp at the Patangi block. On this occasion, 198 persons with disabilities registered for the program, out of which 184 were found eligible to receive disability certificates. Among them, 110 were identified with locomotor disabilities, 26 with visual impairments, 26 with hearing impairments, and 4 with intellectual disabilities or thalassemia.
This program was carried out with the cooperation of the block administration and the district health department. As a result, people no longer need to undergo the hardship of traveling to Koraput Sadar or Jeypore for disability certification.
