Directorate of Primary Education Directs DEOs to Intensify School Inspections

Bhubaneswar: Following the summer vacation, schools across the state have reopened. To ensure structured teaching and learning, the Directorate of Primary Education has emphasized the need to strengthen school monitoring. District Education Officers (DEOs) have been instructed to intensify school inspections.

Block Education Officers, Assistant Group Education Officers, and other field-level staff have been directed to carry out strict inspections. Attention has been drawn to the punctual presence of teachers and non-teaching staff, ensuring they report to school on time.

Guidelines have been issued to monitor the timely attendance of teachers and their regular presence in schools. Additionally, emphasis has been placed on ensuring proper implementation and quality of the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) program. The quality of food is to be regularly inspected, and teachers are to conduct classes diligently in the classrooms, making sure students comprehend the lessons properly.

Teachers are expected to teach in a way that helps students clearly understand the content. Cleanliness and quality of meals served under the PM POSHAN (Prime Minister’s Nutrition Scheme) and Mukhyamantri Poshan Yojana (Chief Minister’s Nutrition Scheme) must be ensured.

Any negligence in this regard will lead to administrative action. Furthermore, DEOs have been instructed to submit regular reports of these actions to the Directorate at specified intervals.
