Bhubaneswar: Mayor Lochana Das conducted a review following a diarrhea outbreak at Trident Galaxy Apartments in Kalinga Nagar. A high-level team from the BMC visited the apartment complex today to assess the situation. The Mayor stated that over 5,000 residents live in the Trident Galaxy area, where the groundwater has become contaminated. Despite being aware of this, residents are still using the polluted water, which is leading to the spread of diarrhea in the locality.

Though clean drinking water is available in nearby apartments, residents of Trident Galaxy have not connected to the potable water supply, knowingly using contaminated groundwater instead. Mayor Das made it clear that this is a major reason behind the disease outbreak. She visited the site today and stated that the groundwater used here is polluted, and the apartment was constructed without following proper regulations, despite having received permission based on certain compliance conditions.
The Mayor added that legal action will be taken for the violation of construction and safety regulations. She also assured that immediate steps are being taken to ensure the safety and health of the apartment residents.
