Devotees Flock to Shaiva Shrines in Kolanara for Holy Observances

Kolanara,18th July 2025 : A large crowd of devotees was witnessed at the Shridhabaleshwar Temple located in Kolanara block headquarters on the occasion of the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan.

From early morning, the temple premises were abuzz with devotional hymns and chants, as Bol Bam devotees began their observance of religious fasts. The area took on a festive and spiritual atmosphere. Similar to Sankranti and Kartik Mondays, today’s Shravan Monday also witnessed the creation of a deeply spiritual environment around the temple.

The fasting devotees began their day by giving up their beds at dawn, bathing in the nearby canal, collecting water in Kalashis (sacred pots), and offering Jalabhishek (ritualistic water offering) to Lord Dhabaleshwar.

Similar scenes were seen at all Shaiva shrines across the region, where crowds of devotees gathered to offer their prayers. In temples located in villages such as Suri, Manising, Arabi, Therubali, and Paikapada, hundreds of devotees performed Jalabhishek and sought the blessings of Lord Mahadev.
